Absolutely gorgeous. And how fantastically uplifting to give your flowers away to worthy causes. Really like what you said about how you're pulled to come to substack. I just joined and feel the same way.

Beautiful! You and your husband have created such an oasis, Kelli. :) And I love your idea of giving flowers away! I've been wanting to garden for quite a long time but haven't made the time for it yet and giving flowers away feels like really good encouragement/motivation to start. I know the joy and calm I feel from buying a beautiful bouquet of flowers, but how cool to see that joy and calm on someone else's face when you give them flowers you grew. 😀 🌸 🌺 Thanks for your generosity.

Thank you so much for your sweet comment, Petra! I hope you do start your garden! Some easy seeds you may want to start with are cosmos and zinnias if growing in the summertime. Dahlia tubers are also pretty easy too!

So beautiful Kelli! I love how you and your husband built raised flower beds in place of grass. Wonderful idea. The trellis is really pretty. Gorgeous photos! Do you have a previous post about caring for lemon and lime trees? I'd love the help! My lemon tree leaves are yellow and both trees haven't produced fruit. Thanks :)

Hi Jeni, thank you so much for your kind words! Oh no about your lemon and lime trees 😩 There are, unfortunately, a lot of reasons they could be yellow. First of all, are they getting a good amount of sunlight? It may be possible they just aren’t getting enough sun. Other possibilities are overwatering, iron deficiency or a nitrogen deficiency. I believe that yellowing around green veins can indicate iron/zinc deficiency and the whole leaf yellowing can indicate nitrogen deficiency. The nursery should have solutions for either of these problems! Iron chelate or nitrogen rich fertilizer may be what they recommend.

Thanks so much Kelli! That definitely helps. I’m thinking it may be nitrogen deficiency. Hopefully I can nurse it back to health😊

Your garden is so beautiful! I'm also a Floret flower farming alumni, and can totally appreciate all the effort you've put into making your flowers grow healthy and strong. I have to give you extra credit for going beyond my original concept of flower farming and turning your farm into a wonderful mixed use of backyard retreat while working towards your million flowers to give away.
